Things had been kinda rough these days that people are beginning to miss the old jolly me. And I miss the old jolly me. It’s not like the negative side of life I’ve written about there is all that I’ve been in the past days or months- such a shame if that’s only what’s seen from the outside. It just just felt like focusing on them once in a while since I thought it needed some attention. But lo and behold, it turns out that they’re not. So I’ve decided to set them aside for the meantime. It’s summer, no more new rain clouds in sight, and it looks like places that were dimmed are now shining again under the sun and the clear skies.

It is time to go to Baguio. Too bad we missed the Penagbenga festival this year, but I haven’t heard yet from my friends there how it turned out. Anyway, I’m sure it was a blast, for every year the festivities never failed to amaze the crowd with the happy colors of the summer capital’s flowers. I hope I could go there either with my family or with friends this summer. Baguio has always been a good choice in times when you want to get out of what’s usually getting you real bored everyday for a couple of days. Even if I spend a few days or weeks there just loitering or hanging around the usual places in the city (Camp John Hay, Mine’s View Park, The Mansion, The Cathedral, etc. etc.), I’d still plan on and look forward to going there every year. It’s where friends could get out of their usual selves in the city and go all out crazy even since it’s far away from the usual daily places. It’s where me and my wifey could spend and enjoy time being just simple lovebirds again, just like when we were just bf-gf’s. Though, I wish to bring my Lukas there- I know my son likes travelling and seeing new places like his Dad. If only the Dad can find a day job so that most of the weekend won’t be spent making up to lost sleeping times during the weekdays…

I’ve been hanging out with friends in and out of the office, and I found many new things on what’s happening lately. Most of them, actually, are for the better. I see people moving up higher levels and almost reaching their goals as early as now. Roy, for instance, had been promoted chair of the Philosophy Department, I heard. Master Joel’s now enjoying a new career in counseling. And I’ve seen friends who decided to take opportunities outside actually enjoy what they are doing now, for they are given things that allow their full potentials to shine. Though rough at first, I know they’d be able to make it for they have the skills, the talent, and they won’t really jump into it if they know they can’t do their job well. Good for them. Actually, I’m proud and happy for them.

If only we could find more time for alcohol, fun, coffee and relaxation together. It’s a delight to hear things happening outside the confines of the workplace- it’s assuring to hear there are still a lot of good things waiting for us aside from still good things that are being offered within. Life is amazing, in general- it’s never boring if you really do not stay and sulk in one place.

My good friend Katie asked me what I’ve been up to after we last met during the last days of 2006. Not much, Miss Kitkat. Just work and family. And a couple of DVDs, sleep, and occasional EBs, coffee dates, movies, art fests and conferences, books, tutorials, career orientation and seminars, hanging out in the campus, visits to favorite shops and places in the malls in between. I’ve given up photography for now since I lack the budget to get the right tools. I’m still into doing magic in Photoshop, though. I’ve been watching the anime series that you’ve been telling me so much about during your last visit here. Actually, I’m loving them, too. Read or Die really is filled with art that we could probably use in the comicbook project. I’m also enjoying watching Tenjou Tenge, though I see much of Dragonball and Yuyu Hakusho in it. You might also want to get copies of Initial D (all the stages), I know you don’t like cars, but I’m sure you’ll like the story. The all-time favorite Naruto? Well… if you don’t know news about it yet, it’s ongoing but now, they’ve returned the series to the real manga storyline. So I guess it all goes back to the excitement while waiting for the next weekly episode.

By the way, I’m still looking forward to actually initializing the art project that we have been planning FOR YEARS now. You might want to FINALLY buy me that WACOM INTUOS that you promised me so that I could actually start working on the sketches that’s been brewing in my minds for a very long time. I need to get busy on things aside from work! Sigh. If you only know how many Notepad files I’ve got stacked up here just not to let those thoughts fade away. Can you please hurry up with what’s keeping you busy these days?! People can’t wait to see what things we could show them! Hehehe…

Better have it all started before Lukas gets into schooling. Ethel and I had finally decided on how we’d start this 18-year project. It was fun searching for the right school where the kid will experience his first days inside the classroom. After some trips, orientations and deep brainstorming, we have come up with the masterplan on how his schooldays would be like for us all in the house in the next couple of months. I know this will work, for every plan Ethel and I had come up always had satisfactorily. It just needs 100% of our attention, which we’d surely gladly give to our precious Luke. So, this is what dreams my Dad had when I was a kid… "I can’t wait till my son gets that diploma"…

So much for that for now. Like they say, tune in next time for fun and entertainment in another one of those Adel’s daily episodes. Oh the excitement! Oh the thrill! Oh the drama! Hahaha! Bump!
